Janet Johnson Kerr, MSM, PMP
Founding Member, Sunny Plains Foundation
Janet Johnson Kerr is the Founding Member of Sunny Plains Foundation with a vision of creating a brighter future for individuals. With a passion for helping people, she works to develop partnerships and programs that will restore the lives of individuals through education and rehabilitation. Applying her knowledge and experience in project management and organizational leadership, Janet provides a track for planning and implementing strategies to guide the Foundation through the various stages of development. A holistic health advocate and philanthropist at heart, Janet has spent much of her adult life working voluntarily with individuals and organizations to help people from all facets of life.
In addition to the Foundation work, Janet is a Management Consultant at StrategyNook LLC, where she specializes in strategic planning, new business development, and delivering project management and training services to individuals and organizations. Over the years, Janet has successfully managed and delivered a number of critical initiatives. At JetBlue Airways in New York, she charted new waters in the airline industry by framing the beginnings of a Corporate PMO with a strategic business focus, managed strategic initiatives, and served as an internal consultant and mentor to many departments.
Janet has supported many small companies and non-profit organizations in their endeavors. She provided project management support to Caribbean Star and Liat Airline in Antigua during their Phase I merger consolidation effort, and project management and auditing support to Cayman Airways during a turnaround initiative project. Janet has also worked with several non-profit organizations during their development stage and assisted in successfully attaining their non-for-profit status from IRS. She continues to guide these organization in a consultative mode. Janet is a past Board Member of Saving Orphans through Healthcare and Outreach (SOHO), and the Project Management Institute (PMI) South Florida Chapter.
Janet is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration, with an emphasis on Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and is affiliated with the American Society for Public Administration.
